Main market in polish city Krotoszyn was on Saturday,9 July 2016 the capital of sumo. About 50 athletes arrived  for International Sumo Championships of Poland – Poland Open 2016. In championships took part sumo wrestlers from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary and Poland.

Women fighted in four weights categories: 65 kg, 73 kg, 80 kg and open. Men fighted also in four weights categories: 85 kg, 100 kg, 115 kg and open. Most categories won representatatives of Poland. They was the best in: 65 kg, 73 kg, 80 kg, open women and in 85 kg, 100 kg men. In category 115 kg the winner was representative of Georgia. In category open triumphed representative of Hungary.  This championships was the test before Sumo World Championships, which will be held in Ulaanbartar, in Mongolia at the turn of July and August. Besides sports spectacle, viewers could took part in calligraphy workshops and could have paintings on theirs bodies.
