We are glad to inform that International Sumo Federation has been granted full recognition by the International Olympic Committee during  IOC Session, which was held in Buenos Aires on 9 October, 2018. 
The decision for the full recognition was made as a result of significant progress made by IFS in its institutional development in addition to the promotion and progress of the sport of Sumo.
We are very proud and we will promote and develope sumo with even greater power – we are headed to being olympic discipline!
